Kelley Hess:  I recently raced in the USA Triathlon National Championships in Tuscaloosa, AL.  My swim went okay, my first transition went well, but 150m into the bike portion, I got a flat!  I tried for ~5 mins to find a new front wheel, with no success.  The liquid sealant in my tubular tire kept it inflated to ~60 psi, so I rode the course--all 40K--on that.  I still managed to only be 7 mins behind the first place bike split! Needless to say I was a bit frustrated.  But the run went pretty well: it was a toasty 93 degrees and ~60% humidity by the time we hit the run course, but I managed a PR for a 10K in an olympic distance tri, on probably the most difficult course I've run: 43:26.

I was very unsatisfied with the results given my terrible luck, so I raced again the next day in the GDVC #1 crit in Madison, WI, to get out some of the frustration -- and won:).

On April 17th, Serena and Kate ran in the Paris Marathon.
Serena: I was sick (sinus infection?) and was not
sure how the race would go.  However, it's really hard not to enjoy a marathon.  Despite the crowded course, both Serena and Kate PRed!  Serena finished in 3:15:33 and Kate in 3:10:31 (Boston qualifying as a boy).
